Stamp Collecting

I was watching a program celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Muppets.

At the end of the program they mentioned that USA was producing a set of stamps to commemorate this.

I went onto my stamp swapping website http://groups.yahoo.com/group/allstampsparadise/

There I found someone to trade with. I am sending the above set commemorating the 200th aniversary of the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel in exchange.

So, there you have it. We celebrate Brunel and America celebrates The Muppets!

Return of the Mallards

This morning the mallards flew into my back garden for breakfast. It is their first visit for 2006. The female has been visting since 2004, when she nested and had lots of chicks.
In 2005 she visited daily and had two or three males fighting over her.
She has turned up with two males this time too, but they are not fighting yet. Perhaps it is their first date.
The bird over on the extreme left is an imitation heron. It is supposed to stop the real herons from eating my goldfish.

Folk Club Anniversary

Friday 17th February was the 10th anniversary of our Brewtown Folk Club.
The guests for the evening were an Irish group called Kelly's Heroes, with Tony Dugan on vocals and bodhran, Helen O'Connell on button accordion, and Tony Dugan on guitar.

I am having fun writing and editing stuff in an online Encyclopedia, called Wikipedia.

You can find it at www.en.wikipedia.org

I have been adding stuff about Tire Manufacturing, Rubber Technology and Orbs.

This photo was taken on Christmas Day.

The circular object floating in the centre of the picture is called an Orb.

Orbs usually occur with digital flash photography.
